Review of Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame (2010) by H.e. M — 13 Oct 2011
A visually stunning epic in a refreshing martial arts/mystery/comedy/period piece mishmash. Intricate plot with lots of twists that are best followed if you have some familiarity with ancient China. I did find the sub-par CGI effects a little distracting but hey they don't have a Hollywood system so it's forgivable.
This was still an expensive and grand-scale production so it was quite impressive and best enjoyed on the big-screen.
