Correct me if I'm wrong...but this movie was a miracle to have been created in 1986. It most definitely paved a path for the acceptance and understanding of lesbian relationships for anyone who saw it.
Donna Deitch was one amazing director to put something out there so bravely and boadly. I don't think anything was held back in the expression of this movie in 1986. The recent interviews with Helen Shaver and Patricia Charbonneau by the original director on the "extras" disc is an excellent contribution to the film as well.
