Review of Dementia 13 (1963) by Kate S — 03 Nov 2007
This one didn't particularly grab me. This was Coppola's first feature film as a director, with Roger Corman producing, about an axe murderer targeting a family who has gathered for a memorial for a long-dead daughter and sister.
On paper it looks like a movie I'd love, but ultimately it was pretty thin on story and didn't really make up for it anywhere else. There are a couple of early plot points that go nowhere. As the dead bodies pile up it does get more interesting, but it's too little, too late.
