Review of Death and the Maiden (1994) by Eytan D — 19 Dec 2012
Though it tends to drag now and then, "Death and the Maiden" is one of Roman Polanski's most effective films. Calustrophobia abounds, the writing is great, and the performances are top-notch.
Sigourney Weaver puts the perfect level of fury and tension into her role that so obviously worked to tremendous effect with Ripley in "Alien." Ben Kingsley is top-notch as the doctor with a disturbing and questionable past.
