Review of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) by Robbie P — 26 Aug 2015
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is a very worthy sequel, surpassing the sequel attempts made by the original series by light years. In face, the movie may even be considered to be better than Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Dawn has its share of moments of action that ramps up more toward the end of the movie as the hositilities between the species escalates. It also has its warm, heart felt moments that might make you want to think about bringing some tissues for your lady.
Without being too lengthy or throwing out any spoilers, this movie is smartly written and a great sci fi adventure that will satisfy even the person who is not a sci fi fan. Its philosophical, sociological edge, that hearkens to the 1968 POTA, is one that makes you ponder about our state today, but is timeless enough that it will leave that same lingering query fresh 25, 50, even 100 years from now.
