Ricky Gervais' 'David Brent: Life on the Road' (2016) is an exquisite masterclass in cringe comedy. Every minute of this film had me wincing as Gervais' lovable though irritating David Brent character attempted his dream of being a rock god.
Maybe would have preferred this story in a miniseries format, though as a film, it works fine and doesn't overstay its welcome.
