Review of Cry_Wolf (2005) by Dylan C — 16 May 2010
Finally, a movie that twists and turns so much that you're never certain of anything until the exact last minute. Cry Wolf is a very intelligent thriller/mystery disguised as a slasher flick. My only two complaints about this film are that at times, the characters must do things that their characters wouldn't do, but they're forced to do them in order to make the script work.
My second complaint is that a good amount of the scares in this film are visible from a mile away. Despite that however, they are still highly effective for the most part. This film is overly-complicated, yet the script still manages to have everything comes together in a way that's both original and surprising.
Definitely a thriller that's worth watching, Cry Wolf is a unique blend of thrills, suspense, and horror that work in a surprisingly effective way.
