Review of Crossfire (1947) by Tom H — 06 Mar 2011
Superbly directed by Edward Dmytryk. He won the Oscar for best director on his achievement in this film. understandably the film also won for best picture. It is a powerful film-noir tale about murder and hate, but also it has a wrong man scenario.
As for Mitchum, his talents weren't put to good use in this film. But at this time he wasn't a major star either. Great film for Noir fans. One other thing, this film is not from 1989!! 1947 is the correct year.
