In 1959, 21-year-old East Bronx beauty Linda Riss broke off her relationship with 32-year-old Burt Pugach when she discovered that he had a wife and child.
Enraged, Pugach then hired three thugs to throw lye in Riss's face, which blinded her and left permanent scars.
In 1974, when Pugach was released from prison, Riss married him soon after.
