Review of Congo (1995) by Bryan W — 15 Oct 2008

The biggest complaint I have about this one is that the original song 'Sounds Of Africa' is awful. It is briskly paced, sharply written, has special effects beyond what you can expect and features solid characterizations, or as solid as they can be in an adventure epic.

Tim Curry essays a deliciously dense performance while Delroy Lindo and Joe Pantoliano turn in beautifully over the top cameos. Check your ego and your critical faculties; those that harshly criticize it, by my estimation, have a lot to learn about having a good time at the movies.
