Review of Clownhouse (1990) by Adam W — 18 Oct 2007
Favourite movie of all time! Director Salva understands seeing a clown creeping around in the dark is more scary than watching an axe fly into someone's face. A real triumph with plenty of suspense, intensity and a creepy foreboding atmosphere.
Forget about what went on behind the scenes, it really doesn't hinder what the film achieves. Besides, I don't hear anybody dissing Roman Polanski - he's a child rapist. Sam Rockwell is the man by the way.
I knew he would go on to have a big career after this. It's a very natural performance.
