Surprisingly effective. There are a few small cheesy parts, but other than that the film is actually pretty creepy. It's reminiscent of the original 'HALLOWEEN,' because it relies so heavily on lighting and sound effects.
.. which, truthfully, is what all good Horror movies should do. I've never been afraid of clowns. But, after seeing this film, I can certainly understand why so many people are. On a side note, it was cool to see a young Sam Rockwell get a sizeable role in this flick.
