Review of Clown (2014) by Dan H — 16 Jun 2016
I like films that stick with their kooky, dark premise and run all the way with it. That's exactly what Clown does. It's a pitch-dark, scary, tragic and mean-spirited film (in some ways it actually reminded me of David Cronenberg's The Fly).
Laura Allen does a pretty good job as Meg, but I'd say the standouts are Andy Powers as Kent and Peter Stormare as Karlsson. Clown certainly isn't a perfect film, but it does have a really cool mythic feel to it (Plus,it's got a pretty unique premise).
It's not a fun film and it does feel a little stretched, but if you like your horror dark, brutal and mean....Clown is definitely one you should check out.
