Review of Class (2010) by Ali E — 12 Jul 2011
One of the best dramatic/romantic comedies I've ever seen, the story is so outrageous and offbeat that whenever something dramatic happens you can't help but cringe and hope for the best. The ending was the only part I didn't like and it could have been much better. The cast really shines, though Bisset doesn't do that great of a job at the beginning she hits her stride midway into the crazy relationship she has with McCarthy. Along with John Cusack, Alan Ruck and Rob Lowe (yeah that surprised me too) the whole cast is spot-on and assumes their role perfectly.
The music wasn't extremely befitting and could have used a nice touch of 80s synth here and there aside from the calm melodies it uses throughout, which only really suit the scenes taking place inside the school.
