Review of Cinderella (2015) by Mike I — 10 May 2015
Easily one of the best films so far this year, this new take on Cinderella maintains the same tone and spirit of the classic Disney animated film while also making just enough changes to not only help it stand on its own but to also update some of the dated aspects of the original film.
Kenneth Branagh's direction is solid and Lily James truly shines in the role of Cinderella. This is exactly what movie audiences needed in this growingly cynical world that we live in- a nice good hearted film that is heartwarming and truly magical.
