Review of Chronic (2015) by Will H — 25 Sep 2016
This film is not for everyone. There are no easy answers, you have to decide for yourself what's going on through Roth's mind, and it has an ending that makes you question the intentions of the director. But for me, this open-ended, moving drama worked for me, mainly because the perfect performance of Tim Roth.
I don't mean to scare anyone off from watching this short (91 minutes) movie. It moves at its own pace, there is a narrative, albeit one that the director demands you pay attention so you can figure it out, and there is conflict aplenty. It's just a different film that is risky, but because it works, the rewards are plentiful.
The film haunts me a day later. I hope more of you can see it so we can talk about it. BTW, this is the direction I want to take Broken (but with more story).
