Review of Chico & Rita (2010) by Anne F — 16 May 2011

Ok so I heard a critic say that said this was one of his top 5 films of last year, then today it was recommended by a friend, so tonight I watched it. It's an animation. It's a love story. It's got lots of jazz music.

It's mainly sub-titled. That's pretty much all the elements that would put me right off a film yet I found it enthralling. It goes to show that you don't need expensive actors to tell a good story, and to be honest the music seemed to fit in totally with the mood of the film.

The animation was superb (in an artistic, rather than Pixar way). Surprisingly good.
