Review of Champs (2015) by Be G — 29 Apr 2015
I think of Champs is a great intro to modern (last 25 years) boxing. For the critics who want to "tackle boxing's many problems" in more depth, or what have you, I say: suck a bag of d*icks.
Given the length of a standard feature film, this is an excellent crack at that subject. Far from exhaustive, but then you'd need 20 hours to do all that. So again, I exhort thee, oh naive critic, to perform fellatio on a large satchel of penises.
What this flic accomplishes with sufficient sincerity is that it humanizes the competitors and tells a much richer story about boxing (and Mike Tyson) than the one most people carry with them. This is well worth the watch.
