Yeah, it works, even if the "dramedy" aspect is outshone by the flashes of comedic brilliance throughout this. Why on Earth doesn't Stephen Merchant play larger roles in these projects? He is on the screen for about 30 seconds in this, and it's the single funniest, most memorable scene in the film, in my opinion.

I have a feeling this might appeal more to the guys than the girls, even though they are obviously attempting to steer this right through the mainstream. Still, despite all this, it works.
