Review of Catfight (2017) by Harry W — 14 May 2017
A biting commentary on our own humanity and sympathy, Catfight urges its leading ladies to step out of their comfort zones and beat each other senseless in this pitch black indie comedy. It's not really that funny, it has its incredibly sarcastic moments where the stars battle with their words and these are probably the best moments.
Heche and Oh give fantastic performances throughout and don't let the film settle to exploitative means which Catfight could've so easily fallen to. It's an interesting film if a tad overlong.
The two women in the film are such awful people that it's really hard to root for either of them, but this is what drives the bleakness of the film.
