Review of Castle Freak (1996) by Josh K — 28 Jan 2008
Wow. This movie blew me away! Stuart Gordon is an excellent director, and he went in a completely different direction with this movie from ReAnimator. It is deadly serious and downright brutal. I love the fact that the monster is, for once, a sympathetic character that actually has a backstory.
This movie contains extreme violence and gore, and is not for the weak (even Cannibal Holocaust veterans may find themselves feeling a bit squeamish in a few places). If you're a horror fan and you don't like this movie something is seriously wrong with you.
