Review of Carver (2008) by Erin K — 18 Jan 2009
I'm not sure how many more times I can watch TCM reboots but I'm sure it's not many more. Carver is a low budget indy film and boy do you know it. They get props for trying to make a film and especially for not over reaching with their gore but a word of advice, pee is not usually brown.
If I haven't seen better low budget films I would probably be more lenient with Carver. However too many other films have a small budget and come out better then this one. You feel like you're watching someone's home videos, and not in a Cloverfield, Blare Witch, Cannibal Holocaust sort of way.
Carver has more of a I'm watching Little Junior blow out his candles quality to it then a serious attempt at making a film. I wish the makers and actors good luck, and I would give them a try again in the future if they'll just bother to polish the final product more.
