Review of Carrie Fisher: Wishful Drinking (2010) by Jordan F — 14 May 2011
While it can come across as a midlife crisis but it's actually is more than that its post-celebrityism. From 19 Carrie Fisher has been a Princess in a galaxy far far away, and nothing has changed. Due to this 'interesting' life she has become the person she is and this is about seeing her life for what it is far from extraordinary and actually not that far far away.
It's how growing up as a celebrity and forever being in your own shadow and that of your "Hollywood inbreeding" effect you. It's riotous in a quiet sort of way and very revealing. Though don't tell her she doesn't like celebrities talking about themselves.
