Review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) by Ted W — 23 Oct 2007
I cried out loud at the end of this film (not only tearing, but vocal, physical shaking). It is perhaps the most unforced, perfectly woven documentary I have seen. I couldn't ask for a richer, more beautifully ambiguous story.
Absolutist thinkers will have trouble with it, contextual thinkers should love it. It is told with astounding honesty by the subjects and compassion by the filmmaker.
