Review of Bye Bye Braverman (1968) by Ashley C — 06 Aug 2010
Four childhood friends travel to Brooklyn to attend a friend's funeral. It's a good time capsule of New York in this period, and there's one or two nice sequences. Director Lumet's characters are interesting, but the film feels stagy, and the late '60s-meandering-episodic style is ultimately dull.
Look for a young Sorrell Brooke (Boss Hogg to younger TV watchers) in a prominent role!
