Review of Bubba Ho-tep (2002) by Kevin C — 05 Jan 2009
A zany comedic tour de force. Honestly--what's not to love about an elderly Elvis and JFK fighting off a soul-sucking mummy? However, despite all the wacky comedic moments, what makes the film special is how it manages to mercilessly weave emotion into the plot--no small feat, especially for a movie with such an outlandish plot.
Anyway, Bruce Campbell is awesome as usual, delivering his clever one-liners relentlessly, and Ossie Davis surprised me with a hilarious performance.
