I thought this was a great story about the sacrifices of one generation in order to improve the next and honoring the grief that was endured to get there. It's not an easy pill to swallow but the themes of religion and entitlement and gender in post-colonial western u.
S. Kept me on the edge of my seat despite slow moving parts. Was perturbed by the parts that some people laughed at in the theatre at TIFF though. Maybe was out of awkwardness bc of the level at how disturbing it was.
