Review of Brick (2006) by Kurt F — 03 Mar 2011
Truly among the finest films of the 2000 decade. Film noir writing applied to contemporary high school might sound like the subject of a comedy, but this is a real film. Watch Chinatown, The Maltese Falcon, Miller's Crossing after this like I did and you just might appreciate the film all the more.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt giving a fantastic performance as the 'detective', starting a new career as a character actor and will hopefully blossom into a major star. A personal favorite and what I think is just a great film-noir.
