Review of Bread and Roses (2000) by Ollie W — 22 Oct 2011
Yet another beautiful, powerful and important film from Loach and the gang, occasionally preachy and less subtle than other efforts, this illuminates the very frustrating and tragic plights of Lower Class immigrant Americans in the face of the horrific machine that is Corporate America.
Brody is charming and fresh while Padilla is simply incredible in the lead role as the fiery Maya.
