Review of Borderland (2007) by Devin C — 20 Nov 2007
Part of 2007's 8 Films To Die For After Dark Horrorfest.
Similar conceptually to Turistas, Hostel, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre recent remake. Had heard and read pretty good things about Borderland in advance and was a bit disappointed with the final result. Ultimately its pretty average with one or two standout scenes which were shot fairly effectively.
Based on true events, Borderland recreates three American's looking to blow off some steam in Mexico while on vacation. Things go horribly wrong when they run into various cult members of a sect not realizing they have insulted the wrong group.
