I grew up in this era of skate boarding. I was a trip down memory lane seeing all the old adds from skateboarding magazine. Clips from old skateboarding videos like "future primitive" and "the search for animal chin".
When the McTwist was big, skate boards had rails and any thing but a Powell Perelta board was generic.
