Review of Blood and Black Lace (1964) by Burton — 14 Oct 2007
Extremely stylish. Bava at his visual best. Lighting very similar to the best parts of Black Sabbath, only throughout the film. Also defined the Giallo at it's roots. It is a damn shame that there is not a good transfer of this film in print with English dubs or subs (the German release is no longer available, I don't think?) because this is a truly beautiful film to look at.
Watching this for the third or fourth time tonight it really has become my absolute favorite giallo, probably even better than Profondo Rosso in my book.
