Review of Blonde Venus (1932) by Ahmed K — 29 Feb 2008
Marvelous film! Sternberg and Dietrich are the greatest director & actress collaboration, aside from Bergman & Ullmann. Whoever thinks Dietrich is playing the character as detached isn't familiar with the style of these early pre code films.
One would have to have seen many more to fully understand and appreciate their moral standings and storytelling.
