Review of Blonde Venus (1932) by Felix G — 15 Nov 2008
This very stylish film displays Marlene Dietrich in all of her exotic beauty. The story is a bit on the trashy side, as Dietrich goes from devoted wife and mother to nightclub dancer to mistress to prostitute and back again, all for the sake of keeping her child, but there is just so much to take in and enjoy that the film overcomes the potentially melodramatic material.
Dietrich's "Hot Voodoo" number is a sight to see, and she just looks so sexy in a tuxedo.
