Review of Blame It on Fidel! (2006) by Rafaella T — 29 Apr 2008
A very charming and smart political satire through the eyes of a very intelligent little 9 year old girl. Nina Kervel-Bey's acting is one to be reckoned with and I won't be surprised if she wins an Oscar when she's older. Her acting in this film is something that will capture your heart. Her stubbornness, wit, intelligence, and heart are all something which will make you smile and laugh. The way she sees communism and capitalism is a very charming and pleasant, humorous view; a great contrast to those of her parents.
The film's plot was a little sketchy at times but it is saved and patched over by the magnificent acting and well-rounded characters.
