Review of Blackway (2015) by Pat C — 02 Jun 2018
Although it starts out suspenseful and intriguing, it quickly deteriorates from there. Casting could have been better too. (Who would ever believe Anthony Hopkins was a logger in his younger days, or even grew up in this town. He's too cultured - so he wasn't a good fit.).
The script is wooden, and so is the dialogue; the character development is sub-par. There are some very obvious holes in the scene transitions. The ending was unimaginative and it seemed unrealistic that these 3 could dispose of such a sinister character with such relative ease.
Still, I do love Julia Stiles and Anthony Hopkins, so I watched it till the end. If you must watch this film, do so as an exercise in what not to do in a movie.
