Review of Black Water (2008) by Zachary M — 04 Jul 2016
I've always had a special place in my heart for animal attack movies. I've spent more hours watching National Geographic than a man should. That being said, I was very surprised and pleased with this low budget, yet very chilling, entry from Australia.
Based on a true story, the film takes it's time to build tension and make you fell for its small cast. There is also next to no CGI in the film, something I appreciate more and more every time a director realizes that you don't need to have in your face graphics to sell a movie. Sometimes less is more, and the less you see of the terror below, the horrifying it becomes.
