Review of Black Book (2006) by Andy O — 08 Sep 2009
One of my favorite films of all time the black book is a original film that combines the tragedy of the occupation of Holland by the Nazis in the second world war with a unconventional romantic story.
Carice Van Houten is amazing , she can speak fluently three languages and does throughout the film , Sebastian Koch is frankly brilliant and playing the complex shy Nazi officer and has great on screen chemistry despite the difference in age with Carice.
Its crowning glory is the fact that the good guys arnt necessarily the guys in Resistance uniforms. it blows all your expectations of a War film out of the water and well is a must see for any film fan !!!!!!
