Review of Big (1988) by Troy F — 06 Nov 2010
Big is an excellent movie with Tom Hanks staring as Josh Baskin, a 13 year old boy makes a wish that he was big on an old magician machine at a carnival. He wakes up the next morning to find that he is an adult, and he's forced to run away from his home to the city where he makes his own life with his own home and a job.
Josh begins to enjoy life as and adult as he is successful with his job and has a love interest. But soon he begins to realize how he misses being a kid and when the opportunity to go back comes, he must choose whether to be a kid again or remain "Big" forever.
I loved Tom Hanks performance in this film (easily one of his best) and the movie really is a lot of fun to watch but sad at times too and the story really grabs a hold of your attention. I don't think Big could've been any better.
