Sestero gives a nice PerFormance as a homeless drifter. He's not as convinciNg as a conniving crook. Tommy is Tommy. If you love his eccentricities, there's plenty on display Here. The dialogue is flat, except for the Tommy/Greg banter, which feelS very real and really shows off their chemistry.

The plot has been done a million times - love, betrayal - BUT WITH a modern Twist. I think they were going for "neo-noir" but didn't quite get there. The novice director chose style over substance.

Too many drone shots and unnecessary slo-mo shots, etc. Filming L.A. And Las Vegas at night does not automaticaLly make a movie a film noir. He shoUld have concentrated on performances and dialogue. Still, it was better than I expected and I look forwaRd to Part 2 in sPite of myself.
