Review of Benny's Video (1992) by Simon P — 17 Jun 2008
Obsession, murder.. belated parental attention. His early trademarks of slow ambiguity and mundanities leading to disturbing destruction make up Haneke's perfect film about screen violence [the writer/director's own obsession?] and the disintegration of family life.
Thought provoking, challenging to watch and totally brilliant.
