Review of Bellflower (2011) by Gregory K — 18 Nov 2011
I dug this movie. The director/star/writer/producer Evan Glodell built his own camera to shoot this and, while that's a cool thought, the film looks crappy. However, having said that, it's an effectively crappy-looking movie.
The look works. Everything feels very candid and real. The actors talk to each other like real people do. It doesn't feel scripted. I found myself pretty touched by the friendship between the two lead male actors and intrigued by the twisted love story.
I admire the passion Evan had to make this film, to make something very different and to bravely defy structural conventions. This is quite a unique film and one you should seek out. Give this a watch.
Very cool movie.
