Review of Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) by Fong K — 02 Mar 2013
It is definitely not an easy movie to make at all, shooting on location in those unlivable conditions. Made even more difficult that the cast has no acting experience and among them, a five-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis, who is the youngest Oscar Best Actress nominee ever.
First-time Director Benh Zeitlin is one of the youngest directors nominated for an Oscar. It is a very moving poetic ode to a child's innocent imagination, optimism and resilience in the big bad world.
