Review of Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (2012) by Dario R — 28 Jun 2016
Had such high hopes for this new prequel TV movie. I loved the previous reboot Battlestar Galactica (BSG) series (one of my favorite shows of all-time). This movie is set in between Caprica and BSG, and focuses on the 1st Cylon war.
Didn't care for the way the director shot the film, there was too much glare while on the ship, guess he was influenced by JJ Abrams Super 8 and Star Trek, worked well on the big screen but didn't translate too well on TV. Also found it annoying whenever character swore there was always a convenient "dropping" of a wrench or large tool. The plot was rushed as well, I couldn't invest or care about the characters. Was hoping this pilot movie would get picked up, but sadly that won't be the case. It would of been interesting to see the evolution of the Cylon.
