As Batman fumbles around and tries to clean up the streets of Gotham, Gordon, too, attempts to clean up the dirty Gotham City Police Department from within, the duo form a solid bond in Batman: Year One that needs to be watched to be believed.
Along the line, Batman comes in contact with Selina Kyle, a future core member of the Batfamily and a love interest, who has her own rather well-executed side origin story to compliment Bruce's.
