Review of Batman: Assault on Arkham (2014) by Kyle K — 11 Aug 2014
Stunned, the 2nd best DC animated film behind Flashpoint Paradox. This film has a PG13 rating but it actually deserves a R rating. Very mature, very violent. This is actually more of a straight up Suicide Squad film with Batman being more of a supporting character.
Wont spoil anything buts its a pretty sophisticated heist film that goes all over Gotham but the bulk of the film takes place at Arkham. Does have a large inspiration from the Arkham games. Notably all the villains you see and the Batsuit.
I wont spoil the scene but there is one part that I consider to be Batmans finest moment in film yet...seriously. This film also gives a refreshing view of Batman from the criminal side which we havnt seen yet in film.
Overall, amazing story and script. If you are a fan of the Arkham games or the Suicide Squad or both, you will love this.
