Review of Basquiat (1996) by Lindsay H — 28 May 2008
The scope of jeffrey wright's performance continues to inspire even 10 years after I first saw it. but it's arguable that david bowie steals the movie. it's a little hard to suspend.
Disbelief in the production's almost effortless attempt to stay within it's time period, but the magically fluid story and it's brilliant ensemble acting performance do much more than just carry a movie, they create a true arthouse classic.
