I am a big fan of Richler's books, this is farewell novel, barney is basically Richler with some creative license. The movie is respectful of the novel. Giamati is a perfect casting for the role, Barney being like Richler gifted with a surgical wit.
Great story of love, life, our relationship with our fathers.
