Review of Barfly (1987) by Jeremi P — 21 Jun 2011
Next to The Wrestler, this is Mickey Rourkes greatest achievement. His real father, living and dying as a real alcoholic must have been a tough demon to subdue for Mickey. He succeeded with flying colors.
Dark, deep and with a bit of sympathy for the main character, it is a very moving film.
