Review of Bambi (1942) by Rob T — 29 Nov 2010
One of my very favorites, Bambi tells a minimalist story with so many levels of enchantment, realism and surrealism, sorrow, cuteness, and images of life and death. It's a film that surpasses famous short films like The Old Mill and The Ugly Duckling by the way it weaves in so many colorful emotions in just a short amount of time.
I could compare it to an abstract masterpiece, for it hardly has any reason or rhyme for existing but just looking at it long enough makes life more worth living.
